Ahhh, the smell of leather and cigarette butts! Gross right? Well without context, you might be right.
The first pic from this weekend is of my new leather couches. Real 100% leather. Not the bonded junk or the fake plastic type. Real italian leather. Thanks to my parents for this AWESOME house warming gift. (And thanks to my bro for the house warming/birthday gift TV in the background!!). That explains the smell of leather.
My second pic is of a frog outside of church… on top of one of those cigarette butt dumpers lol. He was still a very nice frog and stayed still even though I had my 50mm mounted backwards and was only a couple inches from his face.

So, I tried to do a silent blog post but that’d be impossible. In between editing wedding pictures, I have my new to me, 50 year old house to make mine and I’ve been diligently working away. Saturday was the two month mark since I moved in. Since then, I’ve changed all of the flooring in the whole house minus the entry way, kitchen, and second bathroom. It’s all coming alone nicely I’ve already started removing the original metal cabinets!

Owning a house makes one a busy bee!!!
Yes. I’ve thoroughly neglected my blog as of late. I’ve been busy laying hardwood floors down and getting acclimated to a house that is starting to feel more and more like mine every day. I’ll take pics soon to show some progress. I have neglected PP on pictures so I have a set or two worth editing and they are coming soon

Yessss!!! Tonight, in about 5 hours I put in new flooring in the master bedroom of my new to me house. Santos Mahogany flooring from HD. I took a few pics with my iphone of the process.

My new (and first) house!!!
Okay so it’s 50 years old, inspection is thursday, and closing isn’t till the 8th but it’s off of the MLS (house search listings) so it’s pretty much all mine!! Mua ahahahahah!!! I know, I’ve been super busy and haven’t posted much. I have stuff to post. My groove got killed when I shot a famous person a couple weeks ago. *sigh*
Anyways, I put in the offer last sunday and a week later, they’ve taken my offer, finished 80% of the included new roof, and finally got me a chance to take my rents and brother over there to see the inside. Here are some pics!!

A trip to floriday!
So, yes, indeed. Thursday morning early (or tomorrow night late??), I’m going to start my drive to West Palm beach, FL. Camera gear? Check. Studio lighting? Check. Clothes? Double check. Guitar? Check.
Google maps says it’ll take me 17 hours to get to Craig’s house. I’m gonna be a best man-photographer-singer-dude so I need to be ready, right? lol.
I bet I get there in 15 or 16 hours. 15 would match my longest straight drive record and 16 would break it.
The first long distance drive I ever did was with a friend from Daytona Beach, FL to my house here in 14 hours.
The second long distance drive I ever did was from here in MD to california over 5 days, stopping in South Carolina, Louisiana, and Phoenix to visit friends. I think my longest sprint was from “la quinta” Louisiana to El Paso. Something like 13 hours.
The third long distance drive I ever did was from california (palm desert) to here in MD over three days stopping in Memphis, Tennessee to pick up a friend on the way home. 15 hours, 15 hours, 11 hours, home. I couldn’t wait to get home. (California is not all it’s cracked up to be, who knew!? The people are great. The area? Meh.)
This trip to West Palm beach will be the longest I’ve ever been in my car in one sitting.

My D90 is officially for sale. My D7000 came in the mail today and I’m forcing myself to move on. Have I got through all of the settings on the D7000? No. Have I set the ones that I know affect me every time I pick it up? I THINK so lol. Hopefully I have. I would NEVER recommend a gear change up before a shoot… which is exactly what I’m doing…

As many of my friends know, I’ve been into guns for a while (bought my first rifle and pistol in 2004) and recently, thanks to the opportunity to build my own rifle, I’ve been really stoked. Today in the mail came my upper assembly, bolt carrier group (not pictured), and charge handle (also not pictured).
I just wanted to take a few fun pics and smile s’more. I’ll take some better pics later but these will do for now

I did need a second camera that shot 720 and my brother is at his fiancé’s with his iPhone so I was out of luck. The D90 had to do. I did shoot the video with a $1700 lens though… quality wasn’t any better but I’m sure someone out there believe it makes a difference… *insert rolling eyes here* lol.

There is NOTHING like setting up a shoot idea only to have your camera battery die FOUR SHOTS INTO THE IDEA. Guess what I’ll be doing tomorrow? A retake… here are the two poopy ones from my idea. We have a chair at home that I really like and I figured it’d look cool in low key. I was going to try this shot even wider and closer but yeah… didn’t get a chance too. To the cloud!!!
See? I could have done SOOOOO many cool things with this idea but NOOOO dead batteries. I wish I put as much thought and effort into my own ideas sometimes as I do into weddings (which I usually DO but I have no idea why I missed my little battery symbol this time).

Super random, I know lol
These three things are really that related except by me so let me explain lol.
Where have my pictures been!? Yes, of course I’ve been shooting. Trying to nail some AWESOME ideas too but my last one (titled ‘molotov cocktail’) didn’t end in success. Who knew shooting fire was so difficult?
I’ve also been busy in the recording studio (4HorseShoes). Besides photography, music is another creative outlet that plays a HUGE role in my life. Sometimes it can be a little demanding of me… like recording a new CD. This shouldn’t take but a month, maybe a month and a half so if I seem spacey on my blog, that’s why. I’ll post up some songs later for the world to enjoy with my pictures.

Slacking is the one thing I haven’t been doing lately.
