Goodbye 2010… Hello 2011!~!

So I just left a chillin’ time with my rents and some family friends but not without a quick last pic of the 2010 year. :P

(single SB600 through umbrella… I could have made the picture more exciting and though about an exterior light but meh)

I’ve got a million things to think about over the next 24 hours and what I want to do with my life this year. Photography, Songwriting, Cisco stuff… I’ve got a lot to think about. :]

I hope your New Year is just as introspective and it brings something amazing out of you!

Photographing Christmas presents?

Everyone has a camera of some sort now a days and I never see anyone shooting their christmas presents… this year, I decided to take some pic of what will turn out to be my favorite christmas present of the year (I think, I’ll know for sure tomorrow lol).

I know a lot of people don’t seem to like guns but please know that I shoot as safely with my guns as I do with my camera :D

2010 Mountaintop Christmas Service artists…

So I visited a friend’s church in Manassass, VA (pronounce Vah!) and there was a winterjam going on. Five groups of musicians all performing for an awesome night of good old fashioned fellowship. Enjoy :D

Rated PG… Pretty Gun lol

Yes… since my last handgun picture actually got me a lot of odd comments at work, my newest rifle purchase will be a cropped version of the best that I just picked up. I bought a Sig Sauer 522 rifle. It’s a mockup (full size of course) of the 556 shooting older brother (think assault rifle) but it only shoots .22LR rounds which are small and CHEAP. lol. I’ll drop stupid money on a lens but ammo is too expensive to waste.

Anyways, all that introduction for a SINGLE picture of a gun good for plinking and killing zombies lol.

Enjoy :D

The Central Kid’s Service (part deux!)

I am suffering from a huge lack of sleep lol. Due to that lack of sleep… I’ll be posting early for once :P

I’ve got the christmas service from church that I need to edit and the christmas service from a friend’s church (mountaintop christian) that is also in need of editing… Sweet :D

With that, I leave you with a few more from the Kid’s Christmas Service…

First half of the play…

So yessums, I edited through the first half of my batch of pictures for the kid’s play from sunday’s service at Central. I’m just gonna post three or four pics since the pics from the second half are where more of the closeups and emotions are lol.

It was a fun play/musical that involved a bunch of kids going backwards through time to really remember the really real meaning of the real christmas reality story lol. Really, really!

Central Christian Kid’s Christmas Contata (teaser)

One quick terrible edit before I go to bed. lol. The kids did a great job entertaining this morning in church!! Hat’s off to the weebites!

I’ve got a billion pictures to go through and edit but they should be hilarious. I caught a number of nose pickers and some strange lookers along with some criers. Get ready to have your heart strings tugged!!

Two Advent band shots from last night…

So no shot is complete without my own personal touch/spin on it. Enjoy these two :D

Thoughts? :D

Comment below!

Every photographer should practice!! :)

Here are my two practice shots from tonight. Thank goodness my brother is a good sport!!

These were both shot with two SB600s. I love using one just to create dramatic lighting and the second to add natural vignetting to a background (as opposed to the vignetting I added on top of that in PP). One light lighting is always fun. Thanks to my last blog post’s inspiration last night for tonight’s blog post :D

On a weird side note, I’m really oozing with some great concept shot ideas right now so look forward to some interesting experimental shots in the future :D

Two quick shots from church tonight…

OMG it’s wednesday and I’ve got church shots (big surprise, I know lol).

The first is of a guy named Dave. Cool guy. I just noticed the light from the computer monitor made some nice contrast and shot it :P

The second picture is of the whole room, three shot pano. I’ll more than likely upload it to Facebook too for AJ.

Enjoy :D

The pano looks TINY in this format!

Last of the football pics…

I just realized that I never completely my football pics set!! :D

Here are two more quick edits :P

I’ve been on a psychotically abstract kick lately so if my next blog post is psychedelic in nature, enjoy it even more :D

Had my pictures stolen… found out through wordpress search…

Here are three screenshots from two websites that STOLE my pictures. I’ve always read about how important watermarking is but I guess I learn better when it happens to me *sigh*.

Oh, look, they have advertising and are getting PAID to use MY pictures. Freakin’ A. No, Wally is NOT a happy camper right now.

Today’s blog post… is dedicated to harry potter lol

So there’s a challenge on Dgrin called “Freeze or flow”. It’s limited to a single exposure and you’re supposed to be creative as with all things photography :)

So I thought “why not do a fake double exposure by using a flash to freeze my motion and a flashlight to simulate motion from myself?”. I had about three different versions running through my head until I saw my first exposure… OMG. The light turned on!!!

Here’s the final product…. enjoy :D

So I was cleaning my pistol tonight…

and I got a nifty idea for a shot. Here it is:

That object you see getting ready to be loaded into the chamber is an Omega lock (from http://www.omegagunlock.com/autopistols.htm ) that I purchased with my S&W .40 when I bought it 7 years ago. It’s a nifty device that actually locks the slide and basically makes the gun useless without the special wrench to unlock it.

If you’ve ever thought about gun safety or implementing a very easy to manage gun safety system, I totally recommend this. :)

I know this sounds like a commercial but after seeing all the commercials of the kids dying due to gun accessibility, this is the kind of thing to make a gun safe to a kid that does get his hands on it.
