Halfway through the playoff shots…
And here’s what i have so far!!!

This is actually a 24.5 Megapixel panorama!!

Nothing like a touchdown stretch!!

How many peppermill kids does it take to land an eagle??

Okay, some peppermillians are kinda beastly!

Fumble!!

Breakaway!!!
More to come, sorry for the slowness lol.
One picture sums up tonight’s game… lol
Ignore who has the ball. Only pay attention the facial expressions and the body positioning. 38 to 6 is a pretty strong defeat by the Eagles. The peppermill dudes got rock-and-rolled.
Just like in this picture lol.

Thanksgiving… NOT!!!
So yeah, I’ve been giving thanks all day about all kinds of things but last night I went out and gave myself a reason to give some extra thanks lol. I bought one of these… (matchbox car for size reference of Roku and the 46″ monster lol)

On the recommendation of a friend I also ordered Season One of a show called Eureka. If it’s anything like my friend described, it should be a pretty awesome show.
I leave my blog post with a self portrait I just did with my fisheye. I haven’t busted that sucker out in a while but here she is about four inches from the mirror lol:

Modified for that film feel... I've been nostalgic lately...
xD
A few more of Ashes to Embers
I’m halfway through this set and I’m LOVING the pictures. Only issue? Darn blue lighting versus digital CMOS sensors. I won’t get into it. Let’s just say, it’s annoying lol.
Enjoy

If you like how they look on stage, you’ll love how they sound
Check ‘em out if you like ROCK: http://www.ashestoembers.com/
Some highlight pics of the football game!!!

Rest of the set on my flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/r3t1awr3yd/sets/72157625431869978/
Second shoot went well :) (Here’s a teaser of THAT!)
Processed in a style like D. Hill’s type processing. If you like it, speak up. If you hate it, speak up
(click the pic above for a full size shot)
A quicky before I go edit s’more…
Alrighty, having never shot sports photography before, I thought it couldn’t be worse than panning cars… I was kinda right and kinda wrong. The fun part of shooting football? Dude, it’s football. The not so fun part? Keep track of the football while looking at an equivalent 300mm focal point in a lens lol. It worked out though.
Here’s the teaser!!

Game chaging touchdown!!
Nice
More to come!
7 Month photo project… COMPLETED!!!
Since I’m shooting a friend’s little league football game tomorrow and another friend’s band tomorrow… I figured tonight would be a great night to post a copout blog post and post all 26 pictures from my 7 month photo project. OK, so the idea was originally from some other photographers on SVRider.com (the motorcycle cult I belong to lol) but I’m finally finished none the less. Basically it was “start from a to z, use a word for each letter and photograph that word in some way/shape/form”. Here we go!

A is for Alcohol

B is for Banana

C is for Controller

D is for Disgusting

E is for Entertainment

F is for Full

G is for Gangsta

H is for Half

I is for Iconic

K is for Key (lime)

L is for Lifeless

M is for Midget

N is for Neglecting (to read the directions, that is)

O is for Obviously (straining)

P is for Progress

Q is for Queer (the old school definition)

R is for Retirement (my dad's)

S is for solder... or S is for speedlight... or S is for SB600... or S is for sweet-now-my-other-sb600-is-working-lol...

T is for Tiny

U is for un-freakin-believable... Dominos FORGOT MY CHICKEN!!!

V is for Vice... (eg: Using a split ring to make a broken zipper functional vice replacing the whole zipper unit with a new one)

W is for Wilson

X is for Xerotic... which means dry... like my imagination right now lol (hence this abstract wonder)

Y is for Young.... (like my friend cherish here lol)

Z is for zapped (with gayness like the guy on the left!!)
Yeah, so the last few letters were a stretch… and I left a letter out. NYEAH!!
Post FULL of pictures… LiT Pilgrims & Indians dinner!!!
Since there’s no way to bring down the number of pictures from this LiT event (and I was dumb enough to add them to a giant group of pictures…), here we go lol.

AJ and the temple of lost turkeys

My Worship Team

RJ the indian girl

Is this... uh... love??

PILGRIM!!!

Injunz!!!

Out daggone spot! Out!

Is milk good for my hair??
Yeah, I left a few out. If you really wanna see the other half, find my flickr link!!
New tripod, mug, and processing lol
Here’s the new tripod (I’ve had the joystick ball head for three months now… and just saved the cash for the tripod lol)

My 24-70 lens mug got here too!!

Sorry for the off white balance lol
Oh, and here’s the new processing. See if you see a NUMBER of differences…

Old shot...

New shot
There are about a dozen differences between the pictures done in post processing to make the second picture POP more than the first. I’d outline it but it’s a lengthy process lol. I’m sure I’ll get to explanations later.
For now, enjoy the new pics
Photography light study… of sorts…
As a photographer, you’ve gotta challenge yourself at times to stay on your A-game. One of the ways to do that is to look at other photographer’s techniques and mimic them. Then you get to learn some nifty tricks about lighting. I didn’t nail these perfectly but then again when you’re using a magazine cover as a gobo and a magazine subscription card as a snoot, you can’t expect perfection lol. I tried though.
- Deleted for copyright reasons.
- Tom Hanks by a famous photographer

My brother as tom hanks lol
Yeah, the different colored jackets is one of those small details that I just went with because of what was available lol. The light isn’t QUITE as concentrated on the face as I shot it but my space to shoot in was extremely limited so I couldn’t move my main snooted light back any further. The background light is a single SB600 pointed at the back wall. Both flashes were triggered with cheapo RF602s from china
This second light study was from a strobist posting…
- Again, deleted for copyright reasons.
- Original strobist post…
Looking at this one in retrospect, I really missed it lol. I’ll try it again later lol.

Close but meh lol
Enjoy!!
As promised!! Cherish’s shoot…
So yeah, ol’ lippy from my last picture is the lady you see here. A friend from ages ago who needed some updated pics. Enjoy!

We worked with four different outfits but these were the ones she liked the best. I would have chosen a couple other but meh, it’s all good. Who wants some pictures done?! lol
Shoot a friend! Win a prize!!
Er, something like that. I’m not sure about getting prizes for shooting your friends but nice pictures can be a wonderful side effect…
Until my friend gets back to me though (about which pictures I can use for my blog) I’m just posting the one that doesn’t allow her to be identified. I like this picture for some reason. It’s not the cross processing (though that adds to my liking of it). What do you think?

If she gets back to me tonight, I’ll have another blog post about it. If not, tomorrow, you’ll have to wait.
Quick helmet shot…
I got my second light stand mount in the mail today but the umbrella won’t be here tomorrow… until then, it’s an umbrella and a lumiquest softbox III…

I can’t wait to get all of the wedding pictures processed and UN”protected” on my blog… *sigh*. Sorry for the delay guys. I’ll be shooting a friend tomorrow so there should be some good pics this weekend
Quick shot of a kid at church: another attempt at one light source…
So here I am trying a single SB600 on a light stand with an umbrella…

A girl from church wanted a new Facebook pic so I obliged. Not bad for a single light source, right??
Veteran Service at Church
So yeah, let’s not talk about my last blog post. Technical complications is probably the best way to put it…
This sunday at church, the service opened up with a dedication to our service veterans and current serving members. It was pretty normal and standard until no CD with the national anthem could be found. The whole church ended up singing it A Capella which was pretty sweet.
Enjoy!

Good stuff. My dad served 13 in the army and my brother served 3 in the navy.
Getting out of your car in an I-95 tunnel during rush hour traffic…
Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the carbon monoxide… er, something like that.
And sometimes you have to take two crops of a rare capture to remind yourself that
a) It’s a rare capture and you didn’t have time to think enough about your composition
b) You could hear an emergency vehicle approaching from behind and you should really get back in your car
Yeah. lol. Enjoy.
(both pictures today are links to the originals since these small sizes don’t do justice!)
Gray background my … uh, what?
So, as a photographer who likes certain pictures, eventually, you’ve gotta try to emulate those pictures, right? Here are the results that didn’t go so well… short post tonight, I know. I’m stoked for a a wedding that I’m second shooting this saturday

Close to what I was shooting for... (brother modeling)

Me giving up and being a doofus

Psychotic processing for a new forum avatar....

My brother still modeling for me

lol
