LiT leaders… make an announcement video?
A couple of them to be exact (and correct my own title lol).
Today, the LiT leaders went upstairs with video-master J. Kisser to make a sweet set of videos for the kids. Here are some pics from the video shoot.
(who was dumb enough to give me the boom mic??)
(when did I get smart enough to grab my 11-16 while I held the boom!? lol)
Enjoy

Jason prepping...

Two cross light setup (one out of frame to my right)

The ladies do their announcement...

Panzer poses...

Panzer gets face-mic'ed!!

J. Kisser adjusts the multi-hundred dollar tripod thingamajigger lol
That’s all I could get as a photographer/grip. Holding the boom mic meant no shots while any filming was going on and none of me while filming an announcement with Pastor applejacks. *sigh*. Maybe next time RJ will get there sooner since he’s taller than I am.
Roku XD player for streaming media channels
If you’reĀ a netflix or hulu fan and have been looking for a way to stream it to your TV, you’ve got a few options.
Xbox 360, Computer (PC/MAC), Internet TV, Wireless Blu-Ray player, iPhone4, etc…
One of the niftiest option that I found is the Roku player. Makes no noise. Takes up the space of about three CDs stacked on top of each other and comes with a generally friendly interface. For the record, I don’t work for Roku in any way shape or form. I was just looking for a way to stream netflix to my TV without my loud xbox 360 making tons of noise or straining my eyes staring at my iPhone4.
I LOVE IT. The only weird thing about it? It can never be turned off… not without disconnecting it lol. SUPER WEIRD, right? lol. It only draws 4 watts of juice so I’m not too worried about it.
Onto the PICS!!!

Got here in three business days from California

Grand opening!

Everything that comes in the box...

Front side of the Roku XD and remote

Backside of the Roku and remote

Top of the Roku XD

Roku XD remote tag

Super simple Roku XD remote button setup
When I saw the shots on Roku’s site, I thought those were SD cards in the roku receiver and remote but they’re just cloth tabs lol.
It streams perfectly and looks great over HDMI in 1080p
*back to watching family guy*
LSD Power4 Exhaust for the Civic!!!
So while we all wait for my creative soap pictures, roku pictures, and 70-200VR pictures to materialize, let me hold you over with my latest purchase for the civic. It’s used and doesn’t look like much but SCREAMS in vtech and is loud as all get out elsewhere in the powerband. I took a couple of exhaust shots and an engine bay shot… Enjoy the pics as much as I enjoy the sound

Boring profile shot of a dirty exhaust, I know lol

Ew, and a dirty engine bay to close up this blog!
Did you like the pics? lol
New levers? Yay SV650 mods!
I ride my bike all the time and the lack of adjustability in the clutch has been killing my hands forever. I finally found a great deal on levers that look great, are quality built, and are completely able to be adjusted for my hurting hands.
Enjoy the pictures of the levers cus the next time you see them, they’ll be on the bike

The beat up box they came in... thanks DHL!!

More busted box lol

Oooh, pretty!

One umbrella and one lumiquest softbox III with two SB600s.
I can’t wait to put ‘em on!!!
Hey! Where are the posts?!
SO this weekend, I went to a wedding (Sarah Fleming and Bryan Kampes) where I was just a weirdo guest lol. I felt so out of my element. I would have rather shot the thing than been chillin’ at it. It was fun though. Nice couple. I grabbed a couple of shots and even stole flash from the photographer in one lol.
Before I left for the wedding though, I was playing around with my umbrella and stand and found a new cheapo way to use the thing w/o and assistant… it’s called, your hip lol

On to the wedding pics!

Not being the shooter meant I could sit and shoot lol

First prayer together...

I hope you enjoyed them!!!
I didn’t know there’d be cake!
Here are a couple of quick shots from a birthday cake for AJ on wednesday. I didn’t know there’d be cake and the panning shot of Joelle with the cake moving was unplanned

I have a new video that I’ll probably post later today too
Abstract: What do you see?
Tonight… I present a weird picture.
Interpret it as you wish.
It’d be nice to know what you see though lol. Scroll down and leave a comment!!

What do you see?
Perhaps in a different color

How about in green?
I’ll post up what it is next week
SV Mod meet at the batcave…
Yessir, as one of my hobbies overlaps another, there is an inevitable set of pictures created.
Photography + Motorcycling = my most recent set of pictures.
Here are a couple pictures from that set.
The whole set can be found HERE.

Brad's bike and car

DANG! Omari drove from NYC to make this meet!!

I finally put my new chain/sprocket on... by myself

Yeah, we drink oil

Sometimes we actually do work lol

Fixing the neighbor's garbage lol

Super stock looking picture of an aftermarket sprocket and a stocker

Even changed a tire without anyone getting hurt lol

Go time

Heading five hours back to NYC!
Overall it was a productive meet. A lot of hot dogs and brauts were eaten. Maybe even some of the kids mac-n-cheese lol. Good times
This is half of what motorcycling is all about. If you own a bike and never work on it, I IMPLORE you to take your hand to a wrench. It’s rewarding like nothing else
Anal-retentiveness and a new blu-ray disc!
So yeah, today’s blog post is super short. It’s really just to make a point to myself after cleaning out some drawers… I have a problem lol.

EVERY box for EVERY photography relate peripheral... lol
I forgot how retarded I was when I bought my car (2008 Honda Civic Si sedan). I kept EVERYTHING including a stinkin’ dealer’s brochure on the thing. lol.

Uh, is that the window sticker too??
What do you think?? Am I a loon??
Oh, and here are a couple of shots that I took of a new movie that just came out today that I HAD to pick up!! (Two light, high-key)

I also finished up some Wilson’s Soap (wilsonssoap.com) shots. Soon to be posted
Youth, paint, games, and no one died!! :)
So last night, AJ preached about worship and what it really means and he had the kids paint how they worship the Lord…
But before the preaching…. there was a game of who can avoid using their hands to pick up a box with their teeth lol.

Here are some shots of the youth painting out their ways of worship!

And the final results:

I just realized that none of these pics really show a bunch of the kids together so here’s a shot of about half the kids that were there last night:

Almost forgot the completely random pic of panzer lol:

Broken zippers? Split rings to the rescue!!!
So yeah. I’m a pretty hard core commuter on the bike and I enjoy (quite immensely) the simplicity of racing boots and their ability to go on and come off with a single zipper. But, unfortunately, the zipper on my left boot finally joined my right boot in breaking. I got the idea for this fix from a website about camping and tents and figured I’d pass it along. A split ring (or key chain ring) is a great and quick solution for a poopy problem. Enjoy

Excellent italian leather motorcycle racing boots mated to zippers that don’t usually see 30k miles of use
A post about food!? Dominos pizza FTW!!
After reading my brother’s post (here) about his dinner, I decided to take a picture of a little “something, something” that I ordered tonight… In my area there’s a coupon for 3 medium unlimited toppings (really it’s ten; ask me how I know lol) for $7 each. Bangin’ deal!!
Enjoy the pictures and don’t drool on your keyboard too much

Dominos Pizza!!

Dominos Pizza!!

Mmmm, toppings!!
Order some!! That new sauce is killer!! (borderline gourmet even!!)
Nothing like fixing photography gear and buying children at church…
So I have two SB600 speedlights. Unfortunately, I dropped one a while ago and broke the flash tube. Well, $25 later on ebay and voila, a new flash tube arrived in the mail.
Now being half azn, I should excel at photography AND… soldering, right? lol.
Here’s a middle of working shot (thanks to directions on http://photorojo.blogspot.com/2009/05/diy-nikon-sb-600-speedlight-flash-tube.html )

There’s me draining the capacitor with a multimeter.
Unfortunately, after the first test, I forgot to drain the capacitor when I resoldered one side of the flash tube. I was lucky that I only got blinded when the flash popped. Screw driver in one hand and 700*+ soldering iron in the other. *whew*.
Test shot after reassembly:

Yay! Both SBs at 1/64 working great! (with wireless yongnuo RF602s of course!)
Oh, and we had a guest speaker with M_____ on Missions (I can’t remember the first word!!) and some friends decided to get a kid! (So did my fiance!)

Tiff and dave are the couple on the left talking about a kid.
So yes, good weekend of fun times.
Goodnight all!!
Dual post #2: Promised pics!
So yeah, like i said in an earlier post, my dad retired from the gov’t after 24 years of service. Retirement number 1 for sure. I took off a couple of hours of work to attend but it was totally worth it

Pricetag on the cake? Talk about tacky lol. Good enough for government I suppose! lol

Where the festivities went down in Crystal City, VA (6 miles from my job, 25 minutes with DC traffic lol)

One proud wife

"The fish was how big? Yeah right!"

Chin grab!

Arm 'n' card from nowhere...

My dad's boss looking spacey at the other end of the table... possible power play?

Stoked about the retirement gift...

"My wife just got me one of those!!"

It's got my favorite bible verse on it right here!
So there ya have it. Time to get a job as a contractor making the same amount of money with better benefits!! lol.
Dual post #1: Before the promise…
So, I promised pics of my dad’s retirement luncheon and I’m certainly going to deliver but FIRST, I’m going to publish just one picture.

Pictures above and credit at the very bottom
There.
Did you see that? Did you notice that MY OWN BROTHER is now a PUBLISHED photographer??? AND they’re setting him up with tons more gigs!! Free food and sweet pics!! What a lucky dog!!!
*add a smidgen of older brother jealously right here!*
Coming in a few minutes: Dual post #2: Promised pics!
