This post is just weird.
A friend of mine is selling some kitchen hardware and instead of saying “No, not interested” I said “Hey, can I shoot your kitchen hardware?”
So here are pictures of kitchen hardware done in the style of… Me. (Yes, the pictures from my dad’s retirement luncheon AND wilson’s soap pictures are coming!!)
Alrighty. lol. Weird. I know
Hopefully they help him sell ‘em on craig’s list. I suppose I could take some normal pictures of the things lol.
So yes, faithful two readers of mine lol. My weekend involved a photoshoot in DC by @DCPortraits, a gig playing with my band for my friend Dan Houtz’s ThynkVocally project AND finishing up the church worship pictures lol.
Would you like to see examples of all of this work!?
Out of DC and on to the gig!!
That’s it!!! I’m not posting any more worship session shots, you got the idea from the last eighty posts lol.
Enjoy and goodnight all!!!
Sometimes you see something on the roadside and you just have to pull over to take a picture of it.
Now I’ve shot this location before but with a much different effect. As you can see right here:
Believe it or not, these are just two different views of the exact same location. The same crane being used to build that new building is lighting up the second picture in the same way. The picture looks like fire but is actually just two different colored lights fighting for the same tree silhouettes.
Here’s that first picture in b/w because I love the conversion:
Oh, and did I mention that I’m six pictures away from being done with my church worship pictures?? lol.(here are a couple of tonight’s edits!! lol)
Enjoy the mix!! On to the wilson soap projects!!
Alrighty, so I’ve got two more posts worth of pictures from that church worship night a week ago lol. I have a couple of photog projects coming up that I need to get started so yeah, get ready for some differently styled pics.
Less talking, more pictures!!
The full size version of this panoramic first shot is actually 17.8 MP.
15 more to edit then I’m all done
Good night all xD
Hello all who read my blog frequently *cou-mcgowan-gh*, *cou-ford-gh* lol.
Why haven’t I posted all weekend!? Didn’t I have something fun and interesting to do?!
In fact I did. I had to sign up for an MSF course to take so i could continue to ride on my work compound. So low and behold, a perfect evaluation score. (teacher’s last names edited out for privacy):
Needless to say, having 30,000 miles under your belt helps a lot.
I really want to thank my instructors for three years ago for BARELY passing me. Without their vote of confidence I wouldn’t even be riding now or able to say that the BRC is super easy once you’ve had a ton of experience all piled upon BRC training.
If you’re thinking about getting a motorcycle license, I highly recommend it. Riding is one of the best additions to my life and something that I’ll never be able to let go of. I think it does a great job of making EVERYONE feel that way.
NEW church shots lol… of the youth service, in between me editing regular worship pictures. Actually tonight it’s just two pics. One of a rockin’ youth (panzer) sitting at a computer and one of the youth pastor, AJ.
This first shot (Panzer) actually looks wicked cool in black and white OR color soooo… I’m going to post both.
And panzer in black and white (as promised)
You likey? You comment
No fancy high key for the new Halo reach. lol. Let’s be real, this game is meant to be played and not shot in the kitchen lol.
And then I was like… wouldn’t it be fun to play with flashes? So my brother indulged me and modeled for a couple of flash shots. One side lit shot (like sporty people do) and two cross lit shots. I can’t wait till my hot shoe umbrella light stand holders get here lol.
Guess what I have for you tonight? lol. I’ll try to take some pictures tomorrow of a different subject to make things interesting. lol. For now, here are some more churchy pics!!
Either Halo: Reach or a 32mm socket tomorrow lol. Someone let me know. I can’t get my good ideas out for my buddy’s soap until I get this church set out of the way
I’m super depressed on how much noise my camera made @ 1600 ISO. I mean, I know the D90 isn’ t the D3 but seriously… I’m saddened just a bit. Here are a couple more shots from the worship night…
Enjoying what you see? Comment below or retweet this junk!
So yes, as promised in my last post (thanks for the reminder Johnny P!!), I shot a worship service at church tonight. They sound techs recorded live and I shot pictures the whole time. It totally rocked. I just looked through my pics and… well… they’re OK by my standard but the lighting was difficult so I had to make due.
Here’s a teaser (or two?)
Greetings readers and picture viewers
Here are a couple of random shots from church last night. I really can’t do anything but shoot with the magic 24-70. The lens is inspirational lol. These are behind the scenes photos btw.
Tomorrow I’ll be shooting worship session pictures from the adult side of the church as they endeavor on a live recording. Look for some amazing and super new pics soon
PS EDIT: ALMOST FORGOT!!! I have a friend who’s started a soap business and he needs product shots so I’ll be doing a series of edgy product shots I know what you’re thinking, “Soap and edgy don’t go together…” Oh, but they will
Today’s blog post is really a scam scan. I scanned in a few family pictures and decided to share just this ONE with the world.
Good night all…
So instead of being a normal labor day weekend person and doing a barbecue, I spent time with the fiance watching a LOT of house lol. I’m on the fourth disc and I’ve had this bluray set since saturday afternoon. Sad, right? lol.
Here’s a shot of my wonderful pleasure!
Was gonna shoot it high key but got lazy and only busted out one speedlight. Used the wall to help bounce after my Lumi 9″ softbox.
I also learned to cook french toast this morning thanks to my Chef brother. Good times. I’ll throw some iphone pics in here. lol. I’d post more about my 24-70 but I’m in love with her so let us get out of the honeymoon phase so I can brag about her. I’ll be using her almost exclusively to shoot the church worship team this friday. It’s gonna be marvelous!!!
On to the french toast saga:
So today, I woke up. Crusty eyed. UGH. Great. Conjunctivitis. Aka: Highly contagious pink eye. On top of my cold and wild symptoms mildly resembling natural H1Z1 zombie virus onset. *shrugs*
Here’s a pic of my drugs and the things that have been helping me since before I got drugs lol. Homeopathic cures if you will. (16oz of warm water, 1tbsp of honey, 2tbsp of lemon juice, and 2tbsp of apple cider vinegar). I’m only sad that I didn’t get to experiment with my eyes more. I put salt water in my eyes twice along with soft contact lens solution (containing sodium borate) and my eyes got so much better the doctor swore I didn’t have it and didn’t understand why I demanded a sample from my eyeball. Good stuff.
I once saw a marine stick a bar of dial soap in his eye and cure pinkeye overnight. I wasn’t about to be that stupid but I did try the salt water (ouch!) and the contact solution.
Anyways, on the with drug pic:
AmoxicClav for the throat infection.
Vigamox for the eyes. (BURNS like a mother… and contains *gasp* borate as a first ingredient… I think those homeopaths are on to something…)
So, I don’t feel good. I feel poopy. Dear cold, go away.
That was my body talking.
My inner photographer though was thinking “this is a great time to do something amazing!”
Lo’ and behold I present… N is for Neglecting (to read the directions)
Okay. Pretty boring. No tension. Just a microwavable bowl of soup over a stove. Fake fire. Composite shots. One shot of the fire, one of the cup of soup.
Then it hit me…
What if i got a real bowl of soup and really lit it on fire??
So I did.
One quick shot before the whole plastic bowl melted to a crisp:
