A friend’s kitchen hardware… for sale!
This post is just weird.
A friend of mine is selling some kitchen hardware and instead of saying “No, not interested” I said “Hey, can I shoot your kitchen hardware?”
WEIRD.
So here are pictures of kitchen hardware done in the style of… Me. (Yes, the pictures from my dad’s retirement luncheon AND wilson’s soap pictures are coming!!)

Sometimes, you just have to pull over…
Sometimes you see something on the roadside and you just have to pull over to take a picture of it.
Now I’ve shot this location before but with a much different effect. As you can see right here:
Believe it or not, these are just two different views of the exact same location. The same crane being used to build that new building is lighting up the second picture in the same way. The picture looks like fire but is actually just two different colored lights fighting for the same tree silhouettes.

Hello all who read my blog frequently *cou-mcgowan-gh*, *cou-ford-gh* lol.
Why haven’t I posted all weekend!? Didn’t I have something fun and interesting to do?!
In fact I did. I had to sign up for an MSF course to take so i could continue to ride on my work compound. So low and behold, a perfect evaluation score. (teacher’s last names edited out for privacy):
Needless to say, having 30,000 miles under your belt helps a lot.
I really want to thank my instructors for three years ago for BARELY passing me. Without their vote of confidence I wouldn’t even be riding now or able to say that the BRC is super easy once you’ve had a ton of experience all piled upon BRC training.
If you’re thinking about getting a motorcycle license, I highly recommend it. Riding is one of the best additions to my life and something that I’ll never be able to let go of. I think it does a great job of making EVERYONE feel that way.

No fancy high key for the new Halo reach. lol. Let’s be real, this game is meant to be played and not shot in the kitchen lol.
And then I was like… wouldn’t it be fun to play with flashes? So my brother indulged me and modeled for a couple of flash shots. One side lit shot (like sporty people do) and two cross lit shots. I can’t wait till my hot shoe umbrella light stand holders get here lol.

Live worship music @ Church tonight…
So yes, as promised in my last post (thanks for the reminder Johnny P!!), I shot a worship service at church tonight. They sound techs recorded live and I shot pictures the whole time. It totally rocked. I just looked through my pics and… well… they’re OK by my standard but the lighting was difficult so I had to make due.

Labor day weekend… House and french toast!!
So instead of being a normal labor day weekend person and doing a barbecue, I spent time with the fiance watching a LOT of house lol. I’m on the fourth disc and I’ve had this bluray set since saturday afternoon. Sad, right? lol.
Here’s a shot of my wonderful pleasure!
Was gonna shoot it high key but got lazy and only busted out one speedlight. Used the wall to help bounce after my Lumi 9″ softbox.
I also learned to cook french toast this morning thanks to my Chef brother. Good times. I’ll throw some iphone pics in here. lol. I’d post more about my 24-70 but I’m in love with her so let us get out of the honeymoon phase so I can brag about her. I’ll be using her almost exclusively to shoot the church worship team this friday. It’s gonna be marvelous!!!

Being sick, I have no excuse for not posting, right? lol
So today, I woke up. Crusty eyed. UGH. Great. Conjunctivitis. Aka: Highly contagious pink eye. On top of my cold and wild symptoms mildly resembling natural H1Z1 zombie virus onset. *shrugs*
Here’s a pic of my drugs and the things that have been helping me since before I got drugs lol. Homeopathic cures if you will. (16oz of warm water, 1tbsp of honey, 2tbsp of lemon juice, and 2tbsp of apple cider vinegar). I’m only sad that I didn’t get to experiment with my eyes more. I put salt water in my eyes twice along with soft contact lens solution (containing sodium borate) and my eyes got so much better the doctor swore I didn’t have it and didn’t understand why I demanded a sample from my eyeball. Good stuff.
I once saw a marine stick a bar of dial soap in his eye and cure pinkeye overnight. I wasn’t about to be that stupid but I did try the salt water (ouch!) and the contact solution.
Anyways, on the with drug pic:
AmoxicClav for the throat infection.
Vigamox for the eyes. (BURNS like a mother… and contains *gasp* borate as a first ingredient… I think those homeopaths are on to something…)

So, I don’t feel good. I feel poopy. Dear cold, go away.

My inner photographer though was thinking “this is a great time to do something amazing!”

Okay. Pretty boring. No tension. Just a microwavable bowl of soup over a stove. Fake fire. Composite shots. One shot of the fire, one of the cup of soup.
Then it hit me…
What if i got a real bowl of soup and really lit it on fire??
