So yes. It’s true. There will be a blog post coming up dedicated to a friend of mine named Rich Mc-G. He religiously checks my blog for cool pics and keeps me entertained with comments via my iPhone. Good stuff.
On to the other good stuff.
You DID want to see pictures right?
So like I explained in the picture with the bloody young man a few posts ago, this is the fourth year of LiT (Life in Transition, the youth group I help with) Olympics and though the night ended on a somber note of blood and thirteen stitches, fun was still to be had. xD
(Get ready for a graphically heavy post!)
Rest of the set on my flickr HERE
So here we go… since my birthday, I’ve received many a wonderful things including monies and a ball head and a gift card and even a preorder (paid) of Halo Reach. The one gift I got that wasn’t an inanimate object is my best friend of years, Craig. I’ve known him since he were a youngster (18) and sometimes feel like I’ve known him for ages. Anyways he was at the LiT olympics last week and I figured I’d take a quick pic of him and the pic turned out pretty good. (minus the giant orange block to the right, fellow scrutinizing photographers, I KNOW!). (I have my fiance to thank for his plane ticket!!! I LOVE my FIANCE!!!)
Anyways, like the title says, this post is pretty much a copout since I’m tired and desperate for sleep.
Enjoy this ONE picture.
Did you ENJOY it?!
So here is a set of pictures that pretty much speak for themselves. The drama team for the youth group at church had a great performance this morning. I posted these pictures in color on my flickr but like them much more in black and white. Enjoy
If you didn’t get the pictures, just ask me about ‘em and it’s super easy to explain
Goodnight all xD
Alrighty, I still haven’t finished processing the pictures from LiT olympics yet (see last post) so again, to hold any anxious readers over, let me introduce my buddy Craig. I’ve known Craig for years and he’s actually visiting from Florida this week. We stopped by his cousin’s house this weekend to check out his $3700 government surplus purchase. What in the world would a 21 year old redneck young man purchase from the government for that price?
I haven’t had a chance to ask him what model the truck is but I’ll be sure to get all the details when I get a ride!
Hopefully I’ll have plenty of time this monday to get the LiT Olympics pics done so the source of the carnage in the last post can be explained.
BUT I can’t process them all right now so here’s a graphic teaser from a youth even gone wrong…
Thirteen stitches later and I have video and a great story to go along with it all…. *stay tuned*
So I came home today and who did I see working in the kitchen? My brother!! (Didn’t you read the title!? lol)
Apparently he was making some Woodford Reserve Bourbon Vanilla and Tahitian Vanilla Chai bon bons (as I copy the type of chocolates directly from his twitter lol). Very killer and very delicious!!
Served up on a plate with some natural (kitchen) lighting:
Apologies for the noise in that last pic :P (The chocolate was so delicious I didn’t have time for things like light sensitivity!) lol.
Today, Mollie and I visited OCMD one last time before the end of the summer (and more importantly before Mollie starts all her college classes). Definitely had a good time.
Stopped and saw the Jesus sand sculptures from Son Spot.
Mollie got on the sling shot with a total stranger named Cayla (even paid for her since they don’t allow single riders?!???).
Then we hit up Hoopers for delicious crabs and headed back to reality. Ahhhhh. Life is good.
Oh snap! Did I totally mention that I got video of Mollie and Cayla on the sling shot?? xD
(and a new on camera video)
So my friend Tiff recently shot her first wedding and did a FANTASTIC job of producing some amazing images. No surprise to me though as most photographers that I know spend a lot of time with the art behind the lens well before they take on their first serious gig.
Her flickR account is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tlhetzlein/
She totally said it’d be cool to post some samples of her work so as always, here’s some eye candy:
I’m enjoying the crap out of her wedding shots.
I’m also LOVING to DEATH my new 24-70. Pics from this wonderful beast will be up soon
Transcript of the above video:
So in celebration of my 29th year of life on this wonderful third rock from that blazing ball of helium in the sky, I pulled the trigger on a new lens.
WHOOO DOGGY is she a PERTY lens!!!
That’s right… via UPS right now there is a Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 AF-S/G/ED/N lens on the way to my hands!! Two pounds of professional goodness all waiting to unlock the range of photos that I usually capture via “foot zoom”.
CAN YOU TELL I’M EXCITED!!!!
My next two posts will feature a few blogs and photographers that I respect heavily
Hi y’all! Er… Hi all!!!
Guess who’s done editing the handful of shots that he took this weekend!? I AM!!! The only weirdo photographer who doesn’t batch edit and spends time on each individual photograph…
Here’s the link to the whole set: FlickR link for Mollie and Tiff (set)
I’ve got another friend who shoots photography that I’d like to mention in my bloggaroo so hopefully she responds back to my email to repost some of her work
Good night stalkers!!!
So today’s post is dedicated to a pioneer of nifty tools used by all kinds of photographers. His name is Gary Fong. The guy who invented the lightsphere and a few other nifty tools. Why am I highlighting a guy who makes tools that I’ve never used? (Sorry Mr. Fong, I LOVE lumiquest’s Soft Box III lol). I mention Mr. Fong because of the post he wrote about wedding photography that got me hooked on his site.
^^ That post is an awesome perspective on what’s wrong with wedding photographers today and he does a great job summing it up. He’s got all kinds of business minded perspectives that help keep photographic ideas fresh in my head.
Thought for food
Here are two more from the shoot. I think my next couple posts will be from this shoot. I should be done editing them this week so a new project and new content are soon to follow!! (And I’m ordering my 24-70 this week!!!!!!)
… went really well! I set up my main on a 24″ softbox, my secondary on a 9″ soft box (though it makes me want to buy a strip), and my hair light up with a 15* snoot. Fun times!! Here’s a shot that I quickly edited so I have something to blog lol. The rest is coming soon!
I can’t wait to edit the rest!!
So this weekend I have a little mini shoot with the fiance and her friend who does hair and makeup. One thrift store later and voila. A bunch of wardrobes and potential for amazing shots. I can’t wait!!!
Since I MUST post multimedia… here’s an old favorite picture of mine (that I’ve had blown up and framed to some ungodly size).
zOMG, I even labeled the thing correctly
Well, the panzer party!! Happy 16th Johnny P!
So yeah. My future step-father in law has a ministry in baltimore called Solid Rock Ministries. I’ve shot them before but just last sunday they were hoping for a group shot so here it is!
He’s the one with his eye closed next to my future MIL. I know there are some technical issues with the pic but this was unplanned and thrown on me 5 minutes before it happened. lol.
Apologies for my last post too. So unoriginal. FUNNY… but unoriginal.
Between the gym, mollie, and chipotle, you’re getting neglected tonight.
Perhaps a hilarious video or two from youtube will cheer you up
From SNL (A great day lol)
From MAD TV (Can I have yo numba? lol)
From Old Spice (The tickets are now diamonds!)
So yeah, I totally attended two b-day parties last weekend and started editing the second set. Here’s the first pic from that before I go to bed lol.
So today’s pic/post will be from my friend Bridget’s flickr.
I met Bridget at an SVRider meet and we’ve talked more about photography than bikes ever since! She’s been progressing as a photographer and creating some awesome (and might I say inspirational) works of art!
Here’s a link to her flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/31682214@N08/
Here’s one of her more recent shots:
Here are the latest edited shots from Mollie’s birthday party!! Unfortunately, I had to eat during the party which meant? A huge chunk of potentially mind blowing pictures NOT taken due to some Chianti braised short ribs!! (bangin’ by the way!)
I hope you enjoyed the pictures!!
Two birthday party shoots and one impromptu ministry group shoot. *whew!!*
Here’s a quick edit from my fiance’s birthday party at olive gardens. Couple of friends and family members showed
I know these three sets will be fun to edit (since I actually know a lot of the people in them).
Sorry for the short post but you DID get a picture, eh? I might even make a video tomorrow!!
